The TCU Forensics team has had the best beginning to a season in its history this year. The team has competed in four tournaments this fall to date, and has been awarded a top- three team sweepstakes award at all four — three of them first place.

Last weekend, the team placed first in debate and first in combined debate/individual events at the Storm Classic Swing at Southeastern State University.  This win is significant, and it included a complete TCU closeout of the debate semi-final against some very large and competitive debate schools.

Team President, Junior Philosophy and Economics major Timothy Betts, won the individual pentathlon award both days of the swing.  This award is given to the top speaker at the tournament who competes in at least five events that include both public address/limited preparation and oral interpretation.
